Our Process

Your dream home interior, kitchen, bathroom, or basement is a phone call away.

Here’s a summary of the process of how we will work together to give your Chicago area home the style and functionality that you desire.

Let’s Talk

Call us. We’d love to hear about your home, and listen to your ideas. We’ll answer all of your questions, and we’ll have the opportunity to get to know each other. We would welcome the opportunity to help you achieve your vision for your home.

Design and Plan

We will work with your interior designer and design team to assess your project, create a design plan and review drawings, elevations, and 3D renderings of your project. Alternatively, we have designers ready to help bring your dreams to reality!

Research and Procurement

With a clear vision, we will work with your interior designer to review material options according to your budget, style, and the functionality of the space. Once you and your designer have finalized all of your selections, we will handle all of the ordering, inspecting, and delivery of the materials needed to complete your work.

Permission To Build

We will secure all of the required permits before the construction of your project starts. We handle all of the permit processing, architectural plans, engineering plans, bonding, insurance, and licensing.

  • Construction - We begin with a construction meeting, followed by:

  • Demolition (removing the old to make way for the new)

  • Framing (to give the new design structure and support)

  • Rough Work (includes electric, HVAC, plumbing, installation, and closing walls)

  • Finish Work (installation of flooring, cabinets, counter tops, tile, painting, lighting fixtures, etc.)

Your Realized Dream

Once the final finishing touches are completed, you can start enjoying your newly renovated space. After a few days of completion, a member of our leadership team will visit the project, and they will walk through with you to ensure that you are completely satisfied and happy with your project. If anything needs to be taken care of, it will be done in a timely manner.

Payment Schedule

  • We offer a free in-home or virtual consultation followed by a preliminary design and estimate. Our contracts clearly specify the payment schedule for the entire project. 

  • Below is an example contract and payment schedule; payment terms will vary depending on cost and complexity

  • Once this is agreed upon, the client often pays 25% of the original amount due for labor and rough materials. This is followed by an initial on-site construction meeting.

  • Another 25% of the original amount is often paid on the first day of work.

  • The next stage of payment often happens when framing work is done, and at this point, a further 20% of the original amount due is paid.

  • The client will pay the next 20% after the completion of rough-in work like electricity, plumbing, the closing of the walls, etc. 

  • The final 10% is paid before completion of the project.
